What is Doctors for Seva?
“Doctors for Seva” symbolizes compassion, integrity and dedication towards providing quality health-care through the concept of community service. We aim to have a system in place which is not run by money as the primary driver, instead by the compassion of doctors and volunteers to create a healthier, humane society.
Doctors for Seva was started in June 2010 as a project of Youth for Seva. It comprises a team of medical professionals who are willing to provide medical service on a voluntary basis. Our team comprises Paediatricians, Dentists, Gynaecologists, Surgeons, Psychiatrists, Pharmacists, Diagnostic labs, General & Specialty hospitals, Medical and Dental colleges and students. While doctors provide medical help, a large number of non-medical volunteers assist in coordinating our various projects and activities.
Our work
Our aim is to reach out to as many economically needy people in need of medical attention, especially children. We do this by organizing medical camps and following this up with timely treatment. We also run a free clinic for needy patients as well as a youth counselling center for adolescents.
About YFS
Youth for Seva”(YFS) was formed in April 2007 to provide youth with an intention to volunteer and with different time commitments with meaningful opportunities to serve the community. At present, YFS has branches in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Bhopal, Mumbai, Mysore, Shivamogga and Coimbatore.
